Red and black antennae waving

from the season finale of malcolm in the middle (i will replace this with the actual quote when i find it), a seven-year-old's take on atheism:

someone told me that trying to understand what god is thinking is like an ant trying to understand what we're thinking. but i stood in my backyard staring at a colony of ants, and i couldn't tell the good ants from the bad ants, i couldn't figure out what they were thinking or doing. so i just started smiting the hell out of all of them. i smited them with the garden hose and i smited them with my foot. i don't mind telling you i went a little crazy with the shovel. but if we can't understand ants, maybe god can't understand us. maybe all we can do is have fun, live the best life we can, be decent to other people, and stay out of god's way when he goes on a rampage. and that makes me happy.

i really will have my own things to say. sometime.
