In which I am far too impressed by my ability to make reservations.

I don't even want to discuss why I had to cancel my irrationally-booked flight home, losing $200 in the process. I'm just going to forget that happened, not get a tattoo and new glasses this summer, and call it even.

But now, thanks to helpful British man on the phone, I have, gloriously, real tickets all booked and validated, which will get me home a week earlier than anticipated: June 30. Less than 3 months remaining - which is a good and a bad thing; I'll average it out to perfectly fine.

Yes, I have to pick up my tickets in London; which is silly but only gives me an excuse to visit Lani and Josh one more time. Yes, I'm flying in to Stansted and taking a bus to Heathrow. Yes, I'm arriving in Philadelphia, taking an overnight Greyhound with a one-hour middle-of-the-night stopover in Pittsburgh. Yes, as early as I'll have to get up and considering all the time changes, June 30 is going to be about 48 hours long for me. But I have a way to get home now, which is the essential thing.

And I really can't get over the fact that I have the power to just book a flight to London, or anywhere, whenever I want to. I have bonus points on the British National Express! I know all this means is that I'm an adult, and in Europe could probably do all the same things at 15, but it seems cool to me. Like getting my first car - knowing I have the power to go anywhere - whether or not I have the money. (No other practical consideration ever enters the equation; and that one only rarely.) Anyway, I feel worldly.

Oh my, the Alan Rickman-looking man was wearing glasses today. This doesn't help him to look like Snape, but it does help him to look sexy.

Could this guestbook entry possibly be from my one and only homegirl?!? Three days! Yes indeed. Lord, I miss those two painfully.

But in three days, I'm getting up early, taking a train to Schiphol, a plane to London Luton, a bus to Dover, and checking myself into a hostel. Because I freaking can. And - and - could you have forgotten? spending ten days in England with my Josh and my Lani. So you will have to do without these nothing updates of mine for nearly two weeks. I hope you can go on.

(ps, I just requested a veggie meal and picked my seat. All the window and aisle seats are already taken - for a flight in June! - but I did get to move my little cartoon self around the cartoon airplane, which was amusing.)
