March 27, 2004 // 12:52 p.m. If you are what you eat, I ain,t gonna be a funyun no more! I am having a veritable food revolution, my people -- after spending weeks living on ramen, peanut butter bread, raw veggies & dip, it just occurs to me that I can make, say, sandwiches with hummus! and alfalfa sprouts! and veggie wraps! mashed avocados, I can put black beans in my salad, I could even use tofu (if I can find some) for eggless egg-salad sandwiches... Yes, this makes me all frickity excited. I may actually buy some dill. A SPICE! But, I need more recipe suggestions. Understand I will not cook anything. Unless it can be done in my coffeepot. (also I'm a vegetarian, did you know?) We're talking sandwiches, salads, and things that can be added to ramen. But I find this exciting, all of a sudden. Help me! So I'm off to the ATM (do they call them that here?) and Albert Heijn, and I am going to have a hellofa veggie lunch. Followed by another long night of Edith Wharton and Virginia Woolf, alternately. < That might sound like complaining, but dorkily, it is not. |
